چکیده
Mrs. E. C., aged 31, 2-para; was admitted to this hospital on August 27th, 1945, complaining of severe constant abdominal pain of 5 hours duration. Her past and family history were not significant. In 1937 she had had a full time normal delivery. In 1941 she had had a 7-months’ premature stillbirth, attributed to the cord being round the child’s neck. History of wesent pregnancy. Last normal menstrual period, January zoth, 1945. Expected date of delivery October 27th, 1945. She booked at her local clinic on June 26th, 1945, and attended again on July 25th. The urine showed no abnormality on these z visits, and the blood-pressure readings were 100/70 and 100/60 respectively. The Wassermann and Kahn reactions were negative. Evidently she was not a co-operative patient since she did not take vitamins and iron as advised.

Bilateral cortical necrosis of the kidneys following snakebite.
BILATERAL cortical necrosis of the kidneys is a rare pathological lesion. It usually follows some complication of pregnancy such as eclampsia. There has been only one case report where the lesion was seen at autopsy of a patient who died of uraemia after a snakebite (Azevedo & Teixeira, 1938). Oram, Ross, Pell & Winteler (1963) have described calcification of both renal cortices in a patient wh...

متن کاملBilateral renal cortical necrosis associated with smoking synthetic cannabinoids
Synthetic cannabinoids have become a common drug of abuse in recent years and their toxicities have come to light as well. They are known to be notorious for the kidneys, with acute tubular necrosis, acute interstitial nephritis and rhabdomyolysis induced renal injury being the frequent nephrotoxic outcomes in users.
